Sohail in jail in a case of disappearance and torture
The International Crimes Tribunal has sent Rear Admiral (Retd.) Mohammad Sohail, former chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority, to jail in a case of disappearance and torture.
He was produced before the tribunal today and was shown as having been arrested in a case of disappearance and torture in 2012 and later sent to jail. Sohail was once the spokesperson of RAB.
Prosecutor Gazi Monawar Hussain said that Sohail arrested a civilian around 2012, subjected him to inhuman torture and kept him in hiding for a long time. Later, he sent that person to jail on a false case. The victim himself came and filed the complaint. After the investigation of the complaint found primary truth, an application was made to appear before the tribunal and it was approved. Today, when Sohail was presented before the tribunal, he was shown arrested in this case and sent to jail. Sohail is the only accused in this case so far.
