Accused’s confessional statement in Chandpur stabbing incident
Md. Billal Hossain (50), the accused in the case of stabbing and injuring Maulana A.N.M. Nur Rahman, the Khatib of Professorpara Mollabari Jame Mosque in Chandpur city, has given a confessional statement in court. He gave his statement in the court of Chandpur Judicial Magistrate Shahadatul Hasan Al Murad at 7:30 pm on Saturday evening. Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Abdul Quader confirmed the matter and said that they had applied for a seven-day remand against the arrested accused. But the court ordered him to be sent to jail as the accused voluntarily confessed his guilt.

In this regard, Adnan Taki, the eldest son of the victim Khatib, who is the plaintiff in the case, said, “We are demanding a fair investigation and trial of the incident.” Meanwhile, his younger brother Raihan Rahi said that his father is much healthier and better now than before.

Meanwhile, to maintain peace and order in the city, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib held a meeting with leaders of various political parties and religious organizations at the district level in the conference room of the Chandpur District Police Superintendent’s office in the afternoon. In the meeting, everyone’s cooperation was sought so that no such incident occurs in the future.
