A young man was shot and then chopped up and dumped in a rice field in Rangunia.
A young man was shot and hacked to death by miscreants in Rangunia. The deceased youth has been identified as Mohammad Russell (30). Police recovered his body from a paddy field at the junction of three roads in the Mobarak Ali Tila area of Padua Union of the upazila at 3:30 pm today, Thursday. Police and locals said that Mohammad Russell is the son of Mohammad Ali of Ali Tila area. Russell had been abroad for a long time. He returned to the country from abroad a year ago.

After shooting him at around 3 pm today, he was hacked to death and his body was dumped in a nearby paddy field. Later, the police went and recovered the body. Confirming the truth of the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Rangunia Police Station Sabbir Mohammad Selim told Prothom Alo that Russell had bullet marks and sharp weapon injuries in various places on his body. The body is being sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The OC also said that there are several shops around the scene. But no one has yet reported anything about the incident. However, the investigation is underway.
