The National Citizen Party (NCP) upazila coordination committee was announced in Matlab South upazila of Chandpur on Sunday night. Shortly after, joint coordinator Helal Uddin resigned, calling the chief coordinator of the committee a ‘fascist collaborator’. He announced his resignation from his Facebook ID last night.

According to party sources, a press release signed by NCP Central Committee Chief Organizer (South) Hasnat Abdullah and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain last night announced the formation of a coordination committee for the Matlab South Upazila branch. DM Alauddin was made the chief coordinator and Farhad Ahmed Ali, Badiul Alam, Babul Faraji, Helal Uddin and Nomanul Islam Khan were made joint coordinators in the 20-member committee. After the committee was announced, Helal Uddin, the joint coordinator of the committee, announced his resignation in a post from his Facebook ID named ‘MHU Helal’. In it, he commented that Chief Coordinator DM Alauddin is a ‘National Party leader and an associate of fascist Awami leaders’. In the post, he wrote, ‘We cannot sell July to any fascist associates’. Despite calling Helal Uddin’s mobile number several times this Monday morning to inquire about the matter, he could not be reached.
DM Alauddin, the chief coordinator of the newly formed upazila committee, said that he resigned from the National Party long ago. He has no connection with any fascist collaborator. He resigned due to a misunderstanding between him and the joint coordinator. He hopes that everything will be fine later.
