Tarique Rahman will return home before the election: Abdul Awal Mintu
He said this in response to questions from journalists at the inaugural ceremony of the Metropolitan BNP’s membership form renewal and primary membership collection program in Barisal on Sunday afternoon. The Metropolitan BNP organized the program at the Barisal Club Auditorium on Club Road in the city.
Abdul Awal Mintu said, “Discussions were held with Tarique Rahman in the meeting of the interim government’s chief advisor on bringing forward the elections. If the elections are held by February, then it must be assumed that the meeting was fruitful.” He also said, “If elections are held on time, stability will return to the country, economic growth will increase, and business and commerce will be dynamic.” That is why we see the meeting between Tarique Rahman and the chief advisor as positive.’ Asked about the objections of some political parties to the national election, Abdul Awal Mintu said, ‘Although some parties are opposed to holding the election in February, most political parties in the country are in favor of the election. There are currently 62 parties in the country, including BNP, a large part of which wants to participate in the next election. Therefore, everyone must come to a consensus in the spirit of democracy.’
The program, chaired by Metropolitan BNP convener Moniruzzaman, was also attended by central joint organizing secretary Akon Kuddusur Rahman, Mahbubul Haque, and BNP leaders and activists at various levels.
