Abdur Rahman Torafdar, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC).

The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a notification on September 14, transferring Abdur Rahman, who is under orders for transfer as the Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, to the position of Secretary of the Public Service Commission.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, AHM Safiquzzaman, went on retirement leave on August 28. On that day, the government promoted Abdur Rahman Torafdar, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, to the position of Secretary and appointed him as the Labor Secretary.

Officials said that when he went to join the Ministry of Labor, Labor Advisor Abdur Rahman was told to join after a couple of days. However, according to the advisor’s words, he could not join the secretary position even after going to the ministry later. After that, he sat at his previous workplace, the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
