Shibir has secretly taken all the votes of Chhatra League by colluding with AL.
After the victory of Chhatra Shibir in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Hall Sangsad elections, BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas alleged that Shibir has taken all the votes of Chhatra League by colluding with Awami League.
Shibir has secretly taken all the votes of Chhatra League by colluding with AL.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the memorial meeting of BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman at a community center in Chittagong city on Wednesday afternoon.
Mirza Abbas said, “You can say that BNP lost the DUCSU elections. But I cannot say. Where did Jamaat get so many votes, the calculations do not match. I am getting a glimpse of a deep conspiracy. When different parties sit together, we are told that we have to be careful and stop Awami League. If they come again, there will be a lot of trouble. But Shibir has taken all the votes of Chhatra League by colluding with Awami League. There are conspiracies going on against BNP at home and abroad. Mirza Abbas mentioned BNP as a safe party in terms of the country’s independence, sovereignty, and security of life and property. He said, “After August 5, BNP people are committing atrocities, etc., etc. That is not right. Just as Awami League people are doing it with BNP, similarly Awami League and Jamaat are doing misdeeds together. All the blame is on BNP. And BNP’s boys don’t understand anything. They may not be able to handle this greed. Our leader Tarique Rahman has clearly said that there is no place for extortionists or terrorists in BNP. If they don’t correct themselves now, action will be taken.” Addressing the newly elected committee of DUCSU, Mirza Abbas said, “Whatever happens in the DUCSU elections, in any way. I welcome and say that this committee should try to protect the country’s independence and sovereignty. Their senior leaders who are trying to lead the country on the wrong path, they should bring them back.’
The memorial meeting held under the chairmanship of former Chittagong North District BNP convener Golam Akbar Khandaker was attended by Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Shahadat Hossain, former city BNP general secretary Abul Hashem, Chittagong divisional BNP organizing secretary Mahbuber Rahman, former city BNP joint convener Abu Sufian, Abdullah Al Noman’s son Sayeed Al Noman, among others.
It is worth noting that in the DUCSU elections yesterday, candidates from the Chhatra Shibir-supported panel won 9 out of 12 editorial posts. Independent candidates won the remaining three posts. Shibir also won the VP, GS and AGS posts.
