Facebook secretly views all the photos on users’ smartphones. For this, Facebook’s parent company Meta has been accused of secretly enabling the ‘Camera Roll Sharing Suggestions’ option in the privacy settings of the Facebook app. Many people complain that even though permission was not granted, the Camera Roll Sharing Suggestions option is secretly enabled when going to the privacy settings of the Facebook app. According to technology website Mashable, a notice suddenly appeared on the Facebook app. The notice asked users to allow access to all the photos in the camera roll, so that Meta AI can arrange ‘creative ideas’ from the photos. If this permission is granted, the company gets the right to store and use the user’s personal photos according to the terms of Meta AI. There are two toggles related to this in the privacy settings of the Facebook app. If one toggle is enabled, Facebook suggests viewing photos from the user’s camera roll. If the other toggle is enabled, Meta AI has the opportunity to edit and curate photos. Meta is accused of enabling at least one of these settings by default, even though many users did not receive any notice.

Regarding the complaint, Meta said that the feature is still in the experimental stage and users can turn it off at any time if they want. The company claims that AI suggestions are only visible to the user. As a result, no one else can know the information about the images.
How to turn off camera roll sharing suggestions
If you want, you can easily turn off the camera roll sharing suggestion feature. For this, first go to the Settings and Privacy option from the menu icon on the right side of the Facebook app. Then scroll down and tap the Settings option and find the ‘Preferences’ option. Now, after tapping ‘Camera Roll Sharing Suggestions’ at the bottom, turn off the toggle next to the ‘Get Camera Roll Suggestions When You’re Browsing Facebook’ option.
