Tulsi Gabbard’s dispute with Trump over Iran
US President Donald Trump has clashed with his National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard over Iran.
Tulsi Gabbard appears to have dropped out of US President Donald Trump’s list of favorites as he considers military action against Iran, according to several senior Trump administration officials familiar with the matter.

According to Al Jazeera, Trump nominated 43-year-old Tulsi to be the next Director of National Intelligence after winning the 2024 US presidential election. Tulsi took office in mid-February last year after the controversial nomination was approved by the US Senate. Although she has no specific experience in intelligence, Tulsi has more than two decades of experience as a member of the US military.
NBC News reports that Tulsi has been seen strongly criticizing US military intervention abroad in the past.
Tulsi’s close associates insist that there is some tension in the White House over the Iran issue. But the public reaction is far from overblown. Of course, no one who spoke to NBC News believes that Trump’s Iran policy will lead Tulsi to leave the administration, even if the United States becomes directly involved in the conflict.
Tulsi’s political vulnerability was exposed this week, when Trump attacked her over her testimony to Congress in March.
Tulsi told Congress that U.S. intelligence agencies do not believe Iran is developing nuclear weapons, a statement that contradicts Trump’s recent statements.
