EC moving ahead with preparations for February polls despite challenges: CEC
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said that they hope that the Election Commission (EC) will soon receive a letter from the government regarding the organization of the 13th National Parliament election. He said that even if the letter is not received, the EC is preparing for the election in advance. Despite various challenges in organizing the election in the first half of February next year, the EC is taking its preparations forward.

CEC AMM Nasir Uddin told reporters at his office at the Election Building on Wednesday afternoon. He said that the schedule of the National Parliament election will be announced a couple of months before the day the vote is taken. At the news briefing, AMM Nasir Uddin also presented the progress of the ongoing preparations for the election to reporters. In response to questions from reporters, the CEC said that the Election Commission sees creating people’s trust in the Election Commission, ensuring voter turnout, and preventing misuse of AI as challenges. However, they hope that the next election will be transparent like a mirror.
In response to another question, CEC AMM Nasir Uddin said that the law and order situation is improving. There are still a few months left. They hope that the law and order situation will be resolved by then.
CEC AMM Nasir Uddin also said that among the major preparatory works for the election, the work of updating the voter list is in the final stage, the draft for delimiting parliamentary constituencies has been published, the work of registering new political parties is underway, and shopping is also underway. They hope that the major preparatory works will be completed by next September.
CEC AMM Nasir Uddin said that the Election Commission wants a participatory election, wants widespread participation of voters.
