Trump spoke to Narendra Modi on the phone this morning on Wednesday. After the 35-minute phone call, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, while sharing the gist of the two leaders’ discussion, claimed to the media that Trump had offered Modi to come to the United States for some time on his way back from Canada. He said that in that case, a lot could be discussed in the meeting with him. But due to pre-scheduled programs, it was not possible for Modi to accept the offer. Misri said that during the 35-minute discussion, when the issue of the attack on Pakistan called ‘Operation Sindoor’ came up, Modi made India’s stance on third-party intervention in Kashmir clear.
Modi told Trump that the aim of the attack was to destroy terrorists and their facilities based in Pakistan. He also told Trump that India did not agree to the ceasefire on the initiative of anyone else. The ceasefire was discussed between the armies of the two countries.
Foreign Secretary Misri said that Modi informed Trump that all quarters of India are united in not accepting third-party intervention. There is no dispute anywhere.
Misri said that Trump has also been informed of what the Prime Minister said in his address to the nation after the attack in Pakistan. Modi said that India can only talk to Pakistan about stopping terrorism and getting back occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
