Why we must remember death every day
Death: A Comfort for the Believer
The world is a testing ground, where people face hardships, hardships, the loss of loved ones, poverty, and other challenges. For Muslims, this test is living life by following the commands of Allah.
The Quran states, “(Allah) is the One who created death and life, that He may test you as to which of you is best in deed.” (Surah Mulk, verse 2) Death is a comfort for the believer. It provides relief from worldly trials and hardships and leads to the embrace of Allah’s mercy. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The believer finds comfort in death.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6507).
This truth was even reflected in the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). At the time of his death, the Angel of Death gave him an opportunity on behalf of Allah to delay his death, but he chose the path of returning to Allah.
