Bkash’s profit increases by Tk 308 crore in January-June
Mobile financial services provider (MFS) bKash has made a profit of Tk 3.08 billion in the first six months of this year. The company has earned this profit after deducting all expenses and taxes. This information was found in the financial report published by bKash, a subsidiary of BRAC Bank, at the end of the half-year (January-June) of this year.

According to the financial report, bKash has generated a business or income of Tk 3,206 billion in the first six months of this year. The amount was Tk 2,462 billion in the same period last year. Accordingly, bKash’s business in the first six months of this year increased by Tk 7.44 billion or about 30 percent compared to the first six months of last year. Despite a 30 percent growth in revenue, the profit has more than doubled. In the first six months of this year, bKash has made a profit of Tk 3.08 billion. The amount was Tk 109 billion in the same period last year. Accordingly, the profit has increased almost three times in a year. Last year, bKash’s profit exceeded Tk 3 billion for the first time. This time, the company has made a profit of more than Tk 3 billion in 6 months.
After starting its journey in 2011, bKash made a record profit of Tk 300 crore last year. Before that, the company’s highest profit was in 2023, when the company made a profit of Tk 99 crore. At the end of last year, it jumped to Tk 300 crore. And in the first half of this year, bKash made a profit of Tk 308 crore. Industry insiders expect it to exceed Tk 600 crore by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, a review of bKash’s financial reports for the last 10 years shows that in 2014, bKash’s income was Tk 573 crore. And that year, the company made a profit of Tk 19 crore. Both have now increased, making bKash a highly profitable company.
BKash, which started its journey as an MFS company in 2011, now has about 80 million customers. The company has 330,000 agents and 550,000 merchant points across the country. In addition to financial transactions, bKash offers various services such as bill payment, nano loans, and deposit facilities. The company is owned by BRAC Bank, US-based Money in Motion, the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Gates Foundation, Ant International, and SoftBank.
