Former Mayor Taposh’s ‘special representative’ Khorshed Alam arrested
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has arrested Khorshed Alam, known as the special representative of former Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh. A team of the Dhaka Metro South Division of the CID conducted a raid in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station area of the capital on Monday and arrested him. According to CID sources, Khorshed Alam was arrested on charges of involvement in the murder case of teenager Abdullah Siddique during the student-public uprising last year. Abdullah Siddique was killed in a gunfight at the Awami League office in Dhanmondi on August 4, 2018. Later, a case was filed at Dhanmondi Police Station in this incident. The case is being investigated by CID Dhaka Metro South Division Inspector Fazlul Haque Khan.
