Six and a half year old Fatima, whose smile and enchanting face catch the eye when you look at her. This little girl who studies in the Oxford School play group in Jhenaidah city always has a smile on her face. Her smile is as lively as a dream, but behind that smile is hidden the desire to live. She is suffering from a complex disease.

Behind the smile of child Fatima lies the desire to survive.

Fatima is constantly fighting with thalassemia disease. For this, her family has already spent 10 lakh taka. Over a long period of time, Fatima’s body has had to be given about 150 bags of blood. Her father is still running around in search of blood. This is how he has kept her alive. Fatima has also been seen by doctors in India. They said that in order to get completely well, Fatima will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant. And for this, they need another 20 to 22 lakh taka. But the helpless father has already exhausted everything for his daughter’s treatment and does not have the means to continue the treatment. So he has kept his daughter at home. Fatima’s father, Rashedul Islam of Hamdah Purbapara in Jhenaidah city, is a low-income person. He does not have much to say about his own resources. He is struggling for his daughter’s recovery. He has been fighting alone for his daughter’s treatment for five years. This father is very tired today from running around the country and abroad (India). His struggle is gradually becoming smaller due to lack of money.

Talking to the family, it is learned that father Rashedul has spent about 1 million taka for Fatima’s treatment in the last five and a half years. Still, he could not completely cure the child Fatima. As the days go by, the father’s fight for his child is becoming more difficult. Fatima has to donate blood every 15 days. This has been going on for about five and a half years. Doctors say that for Fatima’s permanent recovery, her bone marrow needs to be transplanted. In the meantime, bone marrow has been collected. Fatima’s elder brother Tamim will donate the bone marrow. But due to lack of money, it cannot be transplanted. 21 million taka is needed, which is impossible for this poor family to raise.

Fatima’s relative Rabiul Islam said that an entire family has collapsed just because of the sick Fatima. The child’s life is not only her own, but also that of everyone around her. The child’s grandfather, Anwar Hossain, said that when she puts her head on Fatima’s chest, it seems like she is saying, ‘Let me live, do something for me’.

Rashedul Islam, the father of the child Fatima, said that he has been running a lot with his daughter. He went as far as Rajshahi for a bag of blood. This way, he has kept his daughter alive. But due to lack of money, he is not able to get permanent treatment. Due to lack of money, the girl is moving towards death, which as a father, he is only watching, unable to do anything. Rashedul hopes for everyone’s cooperation to save his daughter.
