Bangladesh moves 3 steps ahead of Palestine in the strongest passport index
Bangladesh has advanced three places in the world’s most powerful passport index compared to last year. Bangladesh is now ranked 94th in terms of the most powerful passport. The war-torn Middle Eastern country of Palestine and the African country of Eritrea are in the same position with Bangladesh on the list.

Bangladesh was ranked 97th in last year’s index. The previous year, it was 101st.
This information was revealed in the index published by Henley & Partners, a London-based organization in the United Kingdom. The index was published on the organization’s website last Friday.
According to the information published in the index, Bangladeshi passport holders can now travel to 39 countries in the world without a prior visa.
Bangladesh’s best position in the Henley & Partners index was in 2006, at 68th. It was at the bottom in 2021, at 108th. The most powerful passport in this year’s index belongs to Singapore. The country’s passport holders can travel to 193 countries without a prior visa. Singapore was also at the top of last year’s index.
Japan and South Korea are in second place in the index. Passport holders of these two countries can travel to 190 countries without a prior visa.
Seven countries are in third place. The countries are Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain. Passport holders of these countries can travel to 189 countries without a prior visa.
Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Sweden are in fourth place. Passport holders of these countries can travel to 188 countries without a prior visa. In addition, passport holders of New Zealand and Switzerland, which are in fifth place, can travel to 187 countries without a prior visa.
Passport holders of the United Kingdom, which is in sixth place in the index, can travel to 186 countries without a prior visa. In seventh place are Australia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta and Poland. Passport holders from these countries can travel to 185 countries without a prior visa. Canada, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are in eighth position. Passport holders from these three countries can travel to 184 countries without a prior visa. Passport holders from Croatia, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia, who are in ninth position, can travel to 183 countries without a prior visa.
There are two names in the tenth position in the index. The United States and Lithuania. Passport holders from these two countries can travel to 182 countries without a prior visa. On the other hand, Afghanistan is at the bottom of the index of powerful passports this year. The country is ranked 99th. Afghan passport holders can travel to 25 countries without a prior visa. Above Afghanistan in the index are Syria (98th), Iraq (97th) and Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia (96th). Nepal and Libya are ranked 95th. North Korea is ranked 93rd, just above Bangladesh. Sudan is ranked 92nd. Iran and Sri Lanka are ranked 91st. The Republic of Congo and South Sudan are ranked 90th.
Among other South Asian countries in the index, Maldives is ranked 53rd, India is ranked 77th, and Bhutan is ranked 84th.
