The health advisor told reporters this information while visiting the injured at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Tuesday.

Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum said, “Yesterday (Monday) I went to Bangladesh Eye Hospital for an eye operation. Later, I heard about such an incident. I rushed to CMH Hospital. When I went there, I found out that 11 bodies had been brought. Another 17 people were brought in injured. Two people, including the pilot of the plane, died there.” The health advisor also said that there was a delay in taking the patient to the hospital due to the crowd outside. If the crowd had been less, they could have been brought to the hospital earlier. The number of people killed in the incident so far is 29.

Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that a total of 31 people were killed and 165 injured in the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet at the Milestone School and College building as of 12 noon on Tuesday.

Saidur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, said that another hospital has been added to the ISPR’s information, which is Lubana Hospital. Information about that hospital was taken before coming here. There is no death in their list. But they are saying verbally that two children were taken there by their guardians when they were dead. Since the two children did not go to any hospital later, their records are not available in any hospital system. The guardians of the two children at Lubana Hospital are being requested to help list the names.

Saidur Rahman said, “The body of one person has been taken from Uttara Modern Medical College Hospital to CMH Hospital. There is a difference in information with ISPR regarding that number. We said that there were 15 bodies in CMH, they say that there are 16 bodies there. It may take some time to resolve this discrepancy in information.’

The special assistant to the chief advisor said that 69 people are currently admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Of these, 10 are in critical condition. Two have been sent to the hospital. He also said that there are six unidentified bodies so far. The relatives of four of them have arrived. The bodies will be handed over through DNA testing. Apart from this, the relatives of the remaining two have not yet been traced.

Saidur Rahman said that a medical team from Singapore will arrive in Dhaka by tonight to treat the injured. This team will include a senior consultant and two nurses. They will join the medical services of the injured from tomorrow.
