Day-long Sustainability Summit held in Dhaka

The ‘Sustainability Summit 2025’ was held at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in the capital to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main objective of the day-long event was to bring together business sectors, policymakers, academics, climate experts and social entrepreneurs to discuss and exchange experiences on a sustainable future.

The day-long summit was held for the second time on Saturday, organized by the Brand Forum and Sustainable Brand Initiative. The Sustainability Summit 2025 was presented by Akij Bashir Group and hosted by SMC Enterprise. This information was given in a press release. Three papers were presented in this one-day summit. In addition, there were three panel discussions, two internal discussions and a real-life case study. These discussions highlighted how various brands, government and private institutions of the country can contribute to the SDGs declared by the United Nations by following long-term plans and policies.

In his opening remarks at the summit, Sajid Mahbub, Group Executive Officer of Bangladesh Brand Forum, said, “Sustainability is no longer an option. It is the foundation of future-oriented business. We want to create a powerful dialogue that will bring together leading individuals and inspire effective initiatives.”

The keynote speakers at the summit were Shehzad Munim, Independent Director of Linde Bangladesh, Mohammad Nurunnabi, Chair of UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development, Green Skills and Climate Action, and Roger Livermore, Senior Strategy Advisor, Asian Institute of Technology.
