There is no ‘level playing field’, I cannot accept the election in this situation: Golam Parwar

Mia Golam Parwar told reporters after visiting Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Monday afternoon. This is where Jamaat’s national rally will be held on July 19.

In response to a question from reporters, Mia Golam Parwar said that Jamaat-e-Islami leaders have never made any statement about postponing the national parliament elections. He said, “We have never made any statement about postponing the elections or not. Our Ameer Saheb has said that we want the elections. But the elections should not be random. This random means that the administration will lean in some direction, will not be neutral, there will be election engineering again, the administration will coerce again, the center will be captured. Referring to this national election, Amir said, “We will allow the election to be held. But we will not allow any kind of election to be held. And we will not accept those who do it.” Golam Parwar called on people from all walks of life in the country to participate in the upcoming national rally. He said, the rally will be held with seven demands including ensuring a level playing field, fair elections, elections through PR method, trial (of those accused of crimes against humanity), and reforms. The demand for the declaration and implementation of the July Charter will be raised from this public meeting. Several demands will also be raised, including the demand for local elections before the national elections.
