Government officials’ consent to mob production is worrisome: Left Alliance
Left Alliance leaders said at the meeting that the way various government officials are consenting to terrorist activities carried out by mobs in different places across the country is very worrisome. These statements are encouraging the mob. The leaders of the alliance have immediately gone beyond party considerations and demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the mob. At the same time, they have also demanded punishment for those involved in the rape and torture of women.
At the meeting, the alliance leaders said that a road march was held on June 27 and 28 at the initiative of the anti-imperialist patriotic people against leasing the New Mooring Container Terminal of the Chittagong Port to the foreign company DP World. The alliance leaders urged the government to withdraw from the decision to lease the port, which is against the national interest. Otherwise, they announced a strong agitation program by uniting the people.

The meeting was also addressed by Bazlur Rashid Firoz, General Secretary of the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (BAS), Iqbal Kabir Zahid, General Secretary of the Revolutionary Communist League of Bangladesh, Masud Rana, Central Coordinator of the BAS (Marxist), Mosherefa Mishu, General Secretary of the Democratic Revolutionary Party, Abdul Ali, Executive Director of the Socialist Party of Bangladesh, Professor Abdus Sattar, member of the editorial board of the Revolutionary Communist League of Bangladesh, and others.
