Advisory Council has replaced milkmaid: Nur
The President of the People’s Rights Council and former VP of DUCSU, Nurul Haque Nur, has commented that there is a place for milk flies in the advisory council. He said these things at a discussion meeting organized at the Maulana Mohammad Akram Khan Hall of the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday (May 24) afternoon.
The meeting titled ‘Thirteenth National Parliament Elections for the Establishment of Democracy and Human Rights’ was organized by the World Human Rights Organization Bangladesh.
At the meeting, he said, ‘The place for milk flies in the advisory council has been established. An advisory council of a specific circle has been formed as desired.’
The President of the People’s Rights Council, Nurul Haque Nur, said, ‘All those present here are active activists of the opposition political party during the previous government. We fought on the streets for the democracy and human rights that we fought for, a few people who were vocal, you will find only five or six such people. However, there are three or four women in the advisory council, what is their role in the last 15-16 years. So many advisors, this reform committee has no place for them anywhere. We said that if there is no participation of the participants of the mass uprising here, then it will be a weak advisory council. They will not be able to take the country to a stable level. Now there is a crisis over the elections.’

On the issue of the resignation of the chief advisor of the interim government, Nurul Haque Noor said, ‘Now why would the world-renowned Dr. Yunus sir talk about resigning. Again, we do not know whether he talked about resigning. We heard this from the leaders of a section of the students’ party, the NCP. Many say that the chief advisor is upset with the activities of the students. The chief advisor had hopes and aspirations for them. Now, the entire state machinery and the administration are putting pressure on those students. After nine months, they are still creating mobs (chaos). Spreading various types of hatred to create divisions among the political parties. A national unity was created around the July mass uprising, and a dividing line is clearly visible there.
In his speech as the chief guest at the event, BNP National Standing Committee member Abdul Moin Khan said, “A change has come to the government through the July mass uprising. At that time, 180 million people of the country were singing songs of liberation. Where has Bangladesh come to today in just 9 months. However, on August 5, people thought that they were freed from the previous dictatorship and came to an open environment.”
He also said, “There is only one solution to overcome the current environment. That is democracy. Ensuring people’s voting rights. Apart from this, there is no alternative solution before the 180 million people of Bangladesh.”
The discussion meeting was presided over by Professor Abdul Latif Masum, Chairman of the World Human Rights Organization Bangladesh.
