Jamaat doesn’t want any election without reforms: Shafiqur Rahman

Shafiqur Rahman said this in his speech as the chief guest at a public meeting held in the city’s public hall on Saturday evening.

Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘We are ready to pay the price of the blood that our children shed for their hopes and aspirations. We do not want to see any election engineering in the next election. If that is the case, then why did so many people give their lives? We will not allow any more elections to be held in this country like the fascist era. We are for justice and for the rights of the people. Our fight will continue until the last trace of fascism is wiped out from Bangladesh.’ The gathering was presided over by Jamaat’s Feni district Ameer Mufti Abdul Hannan and delivered a welcome speech. Central Nayeb Ameer and former MP Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Jamaat’s potential MP candidate from Feni-2 constituency Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan, were special guests, moderated by District Secretary Muhammad Abdur Rahim.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Feni District Jamaat’s Rukon conference was held at the same place. The party’s Ameer Shafiqur Rahman spoke as the chief guest.
