Three sentenced to life in prison for murder of Italian citizen Cesare Tabella
The court has sentenced three accused to life imprisonment in the murder case of Italian citizen Cesar Tabela. Four have been acquitted.

Dhaka Metropolitan City’s Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sheikh Chamidul Islam gave the verdict on Thursday. Additional Public Prosecutor (PP) of this court Abul Kalam Azad confirmed this information to Prothom Alo.
The three accused who were sentenced to life imprisonment are Tamjid Ahmed alias Rubel, Russell Chowdhury alias Chakki Russell and Minhajul Arefin alias Bhagane Russell. After the verdict, the court ordered them to be sent to prison.
The four who were acquitted are BNP leader MA Qayyum, his brother MA Matin, Shakhawat Hossain and Sohel alias Bhangari Sohel.
Qayyum and Matin’s lawyer Fakhrul Islam told Prothom Alo that his clients were accused of politically harassing them. However, today they got justice from the court.
Caesar (51) was shot dead on the sidewalk of Road 90, Gulshan 2, in the capital on the evening of September 28, 2015. The police filed a charge sheet against seven accused in this murder case on June 22, 2016. The charge sheet states that a vested interest group pre-planned the murder of Italian citizen Caesar to fulfill their ill-gotten goals.
