Riaz Uddin appointed MD of Summit’s two power companies
Md. Riaz Uddin has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of two power companies of Summit, a leading power generation group in the private sector. The two companies are Summit Meghnaghat-1 Power Company Limited (337 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant) and Summit Meghnaghat-2 Power Company Limited (583 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant).

It has been reported. It said that Summit Meghnaghat-1 Power Company has a joint partnership with Japan’s JERA and Taiyo Life Insurance. Summit Meghnaghat-2 Power Company has US GE and Japan’s JERA.
Riaz Uddin has been serving as an important member of the Summit Group since 2011. The press release said that he had previously served as CEO of Summit Meghnaghat-2 Power Company Limited and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Summit Meghnaghat-1 Power Company Limited and Summit Bibiana Power Company Limited (352 MW).
Riaz Uddin earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1992. Later, he earned an MBA from Victoria University, Australia. Riaz Uddin has nearly 32 years of experience in implementing power generation projects, leading high-level reviews with stakeholders, and leading power plant operation and maintenance.
