He did not participate in any program of BNP and its affiliated organizations in the area. He is known among local residents as a Chhatra League worker. However, he was the one who got the post of ward committee convener of the Volunteer Party. The local leaders and workers of the party are upset about this. They have held a protest march in protest.

Such an incident has happened in Chittagong city. The name of the person who got the post is Shahidul Islam. He has been made the convener of Uttar Pahartali ward number 9 of the city. Last Thursday night, the full convening committee of the Chittagong Metropolitan Volunteer Party with 71 members was also approved. In this, 21 people have been made joint conveners and 48 people have been made members. Central President of the Volunteer Party SM Jilani and General Secretary Rajib Ahsan approved the committee. At the same time, full and partial convening committees of 15 police stations and 12 wards under the jurisdiction of Chittagong Metropolitan were approved, which includes Uttar Pahartali ward.
The next day, Friday, some party leaders and activists held a protest march in the area in protest of Shahidul Islam being made the ward committee convener. At that time, they warned of strict programs if the ‘friends of tyranny’ were not removed from the committee. There is a program in this regard in Uttar Pahartali today, Monday afternoon as well.
Ward No. 9 Uttar Pahartali is under the jurisdiction of Akbar Shah Police Station of Nagar. When asked, Akbar Shah Police Station Swechchhasebak Dal joint convener Nasir Ahmed told Prothom Alo, ‘Those who have been victims of cases and attacks, those who were in prison, those who have deserted, and those who have not been seen in any party processions or gatherings in the area, have been made the convener. The matter is very sad.’ He also said, ‘Even if an inactive party worker was made the convener, it would have been understandable; someone who is known to everyone as a Chhatra League worker has been made the convener. “With whom there are numerous photos and videos of Chhatra League leaders and activists.” He claimed that the police station committee, like the ward committee, was also formed irresponsibly and submitted his resignation in protest.
