US President Donald Trump’s second son, Eric Trump, has hinted that he or someone else in their family may run for president after his father’s second term ends.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Eric said, ‘If I decide to enter politics, the path to the White House will not be difficult for me. But do you want to take your family on this journey again? That’s the question.’
Since Donald Trump first entered the White House in 2017, Eric Trump, 41, has been more involved in the Trump Organization than in politics. But in an interview, he said, “I’m disappointed in the performance of a lot of politicians. I think I can do this job much better.”
Eric added, “Not just me, there are a few other members of our family who are qualified to fight for this position.”
Current Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are also considered frontrunners in the 2028 Republican presidential nomination race. In response to a question about whether any of the Trump family will not run again, Eric said, “I don’t know… time will tell. But I’m not the only one in our family (to enter politics).” Eric denied the accusation that the Trump family made money from politics. “If anyone has not benefited from politics, it is our family,” he said. “If my father had not run for president in his first term, our family would have been much richer. Because we have lost a lot of opportunities because of entering politics. It has cost a lot to resolve legal issues and this whole process has put a lot of strain on our family.” President Trump’s second son claims that they have spent about $500 million on legal battles alone.
