Business couple beaten, tied up, robbed, gold ornaments and money looted in Joypurhat
A brutal robbary took place at the house of a poultry farm and hatchery businessman in Jamalganj, Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat. Members of the robbers beat up the businessman and his wife, tied them up in a room and looted a large amount of gold ornaments and cash. A case was filed in this robbery incident late on Friday night.

The names of the businessman who was beaten up by the robbers are Ismail Hossain (Tuku) and his wife Bilkis Ara. They have a house called Neer next to Paharpur Bouddhavhihar Road in Jamalganj Bazar. The robbery took place there.

A brutal robbery took place at the house of a poultry farm and hatchery businessman in Jamalganj, Akkelpur Upazila of Joypurhat. Members of the robber gang beat the businessman and his wife, tied them up in a room, and looted a large amount of gold ornaments and cash. A case was filed in this robbery incident late on Friday night.
The name of the businessman who was beaten by the robbers is Ismail Hossain (Tuku) and his wife Bilkis Ara. They have a house called Neer on the side of Paharpur Bouddhav Vihar Road in Jamalganj Bazar. The robbery took place there.
Bilkis Ara claimed that the robbers looted about five lakh taka in cash and one and a half hundred gold ornaments, and six watches worth more than three lakh taka. However, only 30 gold pieces are mentioned in the case. In this regard, Russell Hossain, son of the plaintiff in the case, said, “We have filed the case as the police said. The amount of gold is not a big issue, we are demanding the speedy recovery of the lost gold.”
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Circle) Arif Hossain and OC of Akkelpur Police Station Masud Rana visited the scene on Saturday morning. When they went to the house around 10 am today, it was seen that a window grill in the kitchen of the house was open. Ismail Hossain’s relatives and neighbors were gathering at the house. Ismail Hossain’s wife Bilkis Ara was describing the incident of robbery to her relatives and neighbors.
Talking to relatives and local residents, it was learned that Ismail Hossain is a poultry and hatchery businessman. His house is quite picturesque in Jamalganj Bazar. Ismail Hossain, his wife and a maid live in that house. Last night, they went to sleep after eating. At around 2 am, six masked robbers entered the house with sharp weapons and woke up Ismail and his wife. After beating them all, the robbers tied them up in a room and went to the ground and second floors of the house, broke the furniture, looted a large amount of gold ornaments, cash and six wristwatches worth three lakh taka and fled. The CCTV camera of the house captured the footage of the robbery.
