A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Bangladesh Garments Buying House Association (BGBA) and international supply chain finance platform Air8. This is expected to increase export financing opportunities in the country’s textile sector.
The agreement was signed at the BGBA office in the capital last Monday. Members of the BGBA’s executive committee were present at the event. News release.
Under the agreement, BGBA members will be able to take advantage of Air8’s technology-enabled supply chain financing platform. It will provide easy access to financing, as well as working capital management and international trade advice. This system will help address various supply chain challenges in the textile sector.
BGBA President Md. Mofazzal Hossain said, “We are delighted to partner with Air8. Through this collaboration, members will receive innovative financial services and value-added benefits. Reliable financing and industry-related advice are crucial for growth in this time of global economic uncertainty.”
Air8 President Elvin Ho said, this partnership will help expand technology-enabled financing for SME exporters in the textile sector. As a result, exporters will get a deeper understanding of international trade and effective capital support. It will play a helpful role in ensuring sustainable growth. The statement said that BGBA, as a self-regulated non-profit trade organization, is working to develop the ready-made garment sector and increase its competitiveness in the international market. On the other hand, Air8’s innovative technology and experience will help BGBA members gain a stronger position in the global market.
The agreement is expected to open new horizons of cooperation to make the textile sector of Bangladesh more innovative and tolerant.
