According to the Tehran Times, Trump is deliberately trying to pressure Iran to agree to a ceasefire by spreading this lie. His goal is to create division between the Iranian people and the government and to incite internal unrest. Trump had previously claimed that he would “take two weeks” to decide whether to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. However, at that time he had secretly decided that Israel would attack Iran’s nuclear, military and civilian infrastructure. At the same time, he was also involved in indirect talks with Iran for two months.
Mahdi Mohammadi, an advisor to the speaker of Iran’s parliament, was the first to react to this false announcement. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “The US and Israel are lying. They want Iran to lose its alertness so they can intensify their attacks.”
