Miyazaki-American Beauty, including 50 varieties of mangoes in the hobby garden
As soon as you enter the garden, you see rows of mango trees. Spring mangoes hang from each branch. Some are dark red, like ripe Kashmiri apples. Some are light red on top, green below. Some are pale yellow, soft to the eye. Some are purple-green in spots, as if painted by hand.

The mangoes are not only different in color, but also in shape. Small, long, thick, round or thin—each one is different in style. Some have a shiny polish on them, some are rough on them. The taste of the mangoes also varies. This scene is from an orchard named ‘Mahin Kanan-2’ in Bongram, Mulia Union, Sadar Upazila, just four kilometers away from Narail city.
This orchard is the dream fruit of businessman Jahangir Kabir, a resident of Narail city, and his younger sister Jasmine Ara Sultana, an expatriate in Japan. The journey of this orchard, built on four acres of land, began in 2021 as a hobby. In just a few years, people have become curious about the garden.
Recently, it was seen on site that the garden is decorated with various types of flowers and fruit trees. Among the fruit trees, the mango tree attracts the most attention. Standing in front of a mango tree, we spoke with Jahangir Kabir. He said that in addition to the famous Miyazaki of Japan, Chiangmai, Dokmai, Kiuzai and Banana Mango of Thailand, Jin Huang of China, Super Cant and American Beauty varieties of the United States, there are 50 types of mango trees, both domestic and foreign, including the local Himsagar, Kachamitha, Bari-8, Bari-13, Langra, Amrapali, etc. There is a ‘Three Taste’ mango, which has three types of flavors.

Jahangir Kabir said that he built the garden with the support of his sister who lives in Japan with the enthusiasm of everyone in the family. He named the garden after his sister’s son. People come from home and abroad to see the garden. Everyone shows interest and encouragement. He likes it very much. He wants to decorate the garden even more beautifully in the future.
The surrounding area is filled with the smell of fruits ripening in the sun. This garden is like a dreamland for visitors. That is why many people flock here every day to take pictures, walk around, or simply smell the fruits. Although there is a variety of flowers and fruits, the mango trees are the ones that catch the most attention.
Mahin Ahmed, a college student who came from the city to see the garden, said, “If I hadn’t come here, I wouldn’t have believed that there are so many varieties of mango trees in the world. The mangoes have unique names and eye-catching colors. In a word, they are extraordinary!”
