5 arrested for allegedly killing ‘gangster’ after entering hospital in Patna, India
Police have arrested five people from Kolkata on suspicion of shooting dead a ‘gangster’ who entered the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in Patna, Bihar state, India. Police claim that four of them were directly involved in the murder.

The five were arrested by the Bihar Police and the Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police in a raid in Kolkata’s New Town area on Saturday morning. Police said that the arrested people fled to Kolkata after killing the ‘gangster’. They were arrested after identifying the location of their mobile phones. The main accused in the incident, Tausif Raja, had already been arrested from Patna. Last Thursday, a group of miscreants entered the ICU of a hospital in Patna and shot dead a patient named Chandan Mishra. He himself is a miscreant. He was admitted to the hospital after being released on parole from jail. Chandan, known as the ‘gangster of Boxer’, has 24 criminal cases against him. Out of these, 12 are murder cases.
Eyewitnesses said that patients in the hospital’s ICU started running in panic after hearing the sound of gunfire. The five miscreants took advantage of that opportunity to come out. Later, they cheered outside the hospital, brandishing their guns.
