300 cars being purchased for parliamentary elections
Salehuddin Ahmed said that the Finance Ministry has canceled the proposal to buy cars from the Ministry of Public Administration for the ministers of the next government.
It is learned that the proposal came from the Ministry of Public Administration to the Finance Ministry to buy 60 cars for the ministers of the next government. The Finance Ministry has canceled that proposal. However, the advisor told reporters that 300 cars are being purchased for the upcoming national elections. On this issue, the advisor said, “If you go out with a broken car during the election, that car may stop after two miles. We will not allow that. I do not remember the exact number. We have approved about 300 cars. Those 60 cars are not the issue.’
At that time, the advisor also said that the government has seized 30 to 40 cars imported for the previous government’s members of parliament. Each car costs Tk 5 crore. These cars will be used during the election.
The finance advisor said that Japan will take 100,000 skilled manpower from Bangladesh in the next few days. The finance advisor recently visited Japan. When asked about the visit, he told reporters, ‘Japan is our biggest donor country. Many projects, including the metro rail, are underway with Japan. I have spoken to JICA and ADB there. I have spoken to the Japanese Finance Minister. We have talked about signing an Economic Partnership Agreement or EPA with Japan. They are very interested from the Japanese side.’
The advisor said that the visit also discussed sending 100,000 people to Japan. He said, ‘Japan will take people in the agro-processing sector. Not through any brokers; they will take them directly. Nepal has sent 250,000 people. We are slow here. Because our training is slow. “If you know Japanese, you can get a job there.”
