2 shot dead in dispute over unpaid bills in Sadullapur, Gaibandha

Two people, including a woman, were injured in a shooting at the Khordakomarpur barber shop in Sadullapur upazila after a terrorist demanded the remaining money. Such shooting incidents in rural villages have terrified the common people of the area.

On the morning of Wednesday, August 13, Asim, son of Abu Bakkar Siddique, a hotelier in Napit Bazar, was working at the hotel as usual. Golap entered the hotel around 10 am. When the shop owner, Asim, went to ask for the bill after finishing breakfast, Golap said that he does not need any money for any expenses he makes. Asim told Golap that he should also pay the money that was already outstanding, otherwise he would not go. This led to an argument and a fight between the two. At one point, Golap took out the pistol in his waistband and pointed it at Asim and fired. When Asim fell to the ground with a bullet wound, a woman named Selina Begum came to rescue Asim and Golap also shot her. When the local people rushed to the spot at the sound of the gunshots, the terrorist Golap fled the scene. The injured Asim and Selina Begum were admitted to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital. The Sadullapur Police Station inspected the scene and conducted raids at several suspicious places, but they have not yet been able to arrest the terrorist Golap.

Golap, son of Tayez Uddin, died in Dakshin Chakdaria village of Eidulpur union in Sadullapur upazila. After the death of his parents, Golap lived a reckless life. Over time, he got involved in various crimes including drug trafficking and arms smuggling. People in the area say that he used to roam around with weapons all the time, which is why no one dared to speak out against him.

In such incidents, panic prevails among the common people in the area and the common people of the area are demanding immediate arrest of the terrorist Golap and exemplary punishment.
