16-year-olds will receive NID
The EC Secretary said that those who have reached the age of 16 can register. The EC will be able to keep some information in advance. They will get an NID. Students who go abroad to study, open a bank account, go abroad for medical treatment, etc. require an NID for various minor tasks. If they do not have an NID, they face difficulties. For this, those aged 16 and above will get an NID. For this, they can apply for registration with the EC.
The EC Secretary said that if the NID is lost, there is no need to submit a general diary or a copy of the GD to the police station to apply to the Election Commission to get it. This initiative has been taken to simplify the NID service for citizens.
