Biman’s Assistant Manager (Security) Md. Jamal Hossain has filed a general diary (GD) with the Airport Police Station in this incident. It says that the incident took place last Saturday (August 16). The police have started investigating the incident, GD Investigation Officer Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Roknuzzaman Chowdhury told Prothom Alo. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also investigated the incident and has initially found out the involvement of two Biman employees.

The GD filed by Biman said that the 10 tires could not be found in the auction shed around 6:15 pm on August 16. Later, Biman’s Material Management Supervisor Md. Arman Hossain and Store Helper Shamsul Haque were questioned. Then they said that they had removed the tires in collusion with an official of a private airline in Bangladesh and handed them over to that official.

A Biman official, who did not want to be named, said that an investigation is underway into the incident. Initially, two people have been identified. The tires were removed mainly for illegal money.

Meanwhile, after the incident, Material Management Supervisor Md. Arman Hossain wrote to the Biman authorities, accepting responsibility. There, he said that he gave 10 tires of the plane to US-Bangla. Then the private airline took 6 tires from them and kept them in the auction shed. This came into the sight of security members. When two members of the security branch came and questioned him, he confessed to the incident.

In describing the next incident, the accused Biman official also said that on the orders of the security branch officials, they were taken back with them and the tires of the private airlines were returned. Along with this, the tires of the plane were brought back and kept in the auction shed.

When asked about these matters, Biman Bangladesh Airlines General Manager (Public Relations) ABM Rawshan Kabir told Prothom Alo, the tires were kept for auction. But they were removed without the permission of the authorities. The investigation has revealed the involvement of two people. It is being investigated whether anyone else is involved in this. According to the investigation report, action will be taken against those involved very soon.
